We’ve done it! We reached the end of the year! It’s been a wild one, but the New Year is on the horizon and with it a fresh new beginning in all sorts of ways. For now, enjoy the winter holidays, however they may take shape this year – small household dinner, a socially distant gift exchange, or the 2020 Classic (Zoom call and cocktails!).
As we prepare to start next year on the right foot, let’s take a look back at 2020 and some of the things we’ve covered this year on the blog! Think of it like your Spotify Wrapped but for vape news!
In January we started the year off by busting medical marijuana myths and the Pros and Cons fo Disposable Vape Pens
Busting Medical Marijuana Myths
“Marijauna is a controversial topic, especially in relation to drug abuse and medical use. Numerous myths about medical marijuana were popularized over the past few years as the line between recreational and medical use gets muddled by state laws. We at DC Alchemy want to clear up some of the common misconceptions surrounding medical marijuana…”
In it we cover myths about marijuana causing cancer, it’s addictiveness, whether or not it’s a ‘gateway’ drug and more.
In February we took a look at the safety of vaping and how proper testing plays into it!
With Proper Testing, is Vaping Safe?
“The question “How safe is vaping” is blasted all over the media and the Internet. The FDA is working to regulate vaping products with the help of the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP). Due to their work, compliant companies offer extremely safe vape products. However, not all retailers are in compliance. … While vaping itself is safe and can be used to administer medical supplements, the products can fall short of safety standards, especially those sold illicitly such as counterfeit or black market products. Such products can contain harmful materials like lead, vitamin E acetate or formaldehyde.”

The following month, in March, we laid out the differences of smoking and vaping.
What is the Difference Between Smoking and Vaping?
“There is a lot of talk about whether or not vaping is as dangerous as smoking is. We at DC Alchemy aren’t going to debate whether it is or not; instead, we’re just going to outline the difference between vaping and smoking, as the two trends are vastly different, despite both being centered about inhaling substances…”

Skipping ahead to July we took a look at more safety info, discussing batteries!
A Complete Guide to Vape Battery Safety
“We recently published a complete guide to vaporizers and wanted to extend the series to cover different parts of a vape; most notably, the battery. Rechargeable or not, proper battery maintenance is key to prolonging your vape’s life and protecting your safety…”

In September we took a close look at the upcoming Arizona ballet measure to legalize recreational marijuana in November.
Arizona’s Upcoming Recreational Marijuana Law
“Following the activism and hard work of the Smart and Safe Arizona team, a new legalization measure is going to be hitting the ballot this year! The Smart and Safe Arizona initiative seeks to legalize the possession and use of marijana for adults (specifically 21 years and older)! What does that look like? How would it work? Read on, we’ll cover everything!”
The measure passed on election day!

Last month we talked about how people are vaping without any nicotine, opening up a whole new world of options for would-be vapers.
Vaping Without Nicotine, Vape Your Way
“That’s right, one of the most commonly thought of reasons for vaping in the first place is for former smokers, looking to decrease the amount of tobacco they use and using nicotine based vape juice to wean them off of the ‘hard’ stuff (cigarettes, cigars, etc.)
But vaping isn’t just for former smokers! There are plentof people out there who enjoy a good vape, those who like to sample flavors, people who like to build the rigs, and of course, folks who like to rip chunky clouds. For those folks, nicotine isn’t necessary, and instead they can enjoy vaping without nicotine…”

Like we said. It’s been a year! Enjoy your winter holidays and we’ll see you back here in 2021!
